Programming with TECH400SDE
TECH400SDE TPMS Tool from Bartec Auto ID
The TECH400SDE is designed to work in the harsh environment of the tyre workshop. It takes its functionality from the world leading TPMS experts' experience in equipping car plants. The tool starts its work when customers take their car to the workshop with the TPMS warning light on. It allows for ‘Test before you Touch’ so that details of the repair can be agreed with the customer before the wheel is broken down. Furthermore, the TECH400SDE activates and decodes all TPMS sensors, diagnoses problems and enables the user to reprogram the car and turn out the TPMS warning light. It was awarded with the Undercar Top 10 Tools award 2012 and is used by 97 of the biggest 100 tyre shop chains in North America where TPMS has been legislated since 2008. The TECH400SDE meets the requirement of the EU TPMS legislation effective 2012. It also programs the Schrader EZ-sensor, the market leading programmable aftermarket TPMS sensor designed to replace 90% of all TPMS sensors.
Programming EZ-sensor using TECH400SDE
Schrader has arranged for the programming software to be available on the market-leading TPMS tool TECH400SDE from Bartec Auto ID, among others. This tool can be used to both diagnose TPMS problems and also to fix them by programming blank EZ-sensors™ to emulate faulty OE or replacement part(s). The programmed part(s) can then be fitted to the vehicle to replace the faulty part(s). There are programming routines available for the following common scenarios:
- Replacing a low battery sensor
- Replacing a non-functioning sensor
- Producing Winter tyre Set
It's easy to replace an existing Tyre Pressure Monitoring sensor
1) Select Vehicle Model from the Tool Screen
3) Read sensor in the wheel
5) Use the tool to program a replacement Sensor with the data from an old sensor
7) TPMS warning light goes out. Job done!
2) Portable tool configures itself to read the correct TPM type
4) Identify faulty sensor
6) Replace faulty sensor with EZ-sensor
